Our role is to raise funds to supplement school activities and provide our children with “little extras”.

A substantial amount of the money we raise goes towards the cost of school trips. Without this contribution from PTFA funds the donation requested from parents would be much greater and some trips would not be able to go ahead.

We also contribute to the Christmas Parties for the children. In particular paying for Magic Mike to entertain the younger children.

Other things we regularly contribute towards are book bags, resources and equipment for the classrooms and books for the library.

Every single child at school benefits in some way from the money we raise.

We hold 2 major fund raising activities each year, our Summer Fair and our Christmas Fair. In recent years each class have contributed to the fairs by each class holding their own stall. They have made items to sell or devised games for people to play. This ties in with the school’s enterprise curriculum and the children enjoy contributing. The older children enjoy helping to set up for the fairs and help run the stalls.

We also organise other fund raising events throughout the year including sponsored events, school discos and the bag to school clothing collections.

The PTFA paid for all the new disco equipment which has allowed us to run regular ‘proper’ discos for the children (and some of the staff!).

Currently we have a new comittee of parents and staff who meet once a term to discuss the fairs or our next activity. Whether you want to join us for the meetings or can help at the fairs, events etc. or have some great ideas about what we can try next or you have contacts to help us obtain some great raffle prizes please let us know! You can be involved as little or as much as you want to be. We can be contacted via the school office.

Look out for the Newsletter for any new events.
